Profile

Personal Bio:
My name is Tara Branche and I am a writer, poet, author, and spoken word artist. I write mainly short stories, essays, and poetry.

I heard once in a seminar that in order to truly be a writer, then you have to write everyday. I've been writing for 5 years on and off, and still do not write everyday, but it remains a goal. Currently, I am progressing on this goal by working on a second book, which will be a novel; this also gives me the opportunity to challenge myself to complete a full-length manuscript. My first book of poetry, When Rose Colored Glasses Break, will be released in August 2008.

“From the deep hollows of my soul
I let go of the pain
voicing my lessons
so i won't make the same mistakes again

This mental mirror reflects the castrated ego
that I let go of long ago
so that I won't forget
I won't forget.”-- from poem, entitled, 'Herstory'© 2008 Tara Branche

When Rose-Colored Glasses Break is a collection of poems written throughout the years chronicling my life's journey thus far. Poignant, witty, and thought-provoking best describes this debut offering. I bring comfort, compassion, and understanding of the misunderstood. Sometimes humorous, sometimes heart-wrenching, sometimes provocative, sometimes aphoristic, the issues of the day are brought to the forefront so that they can no longer be ignored or forgotten
