Profile Information

Personal Bio:
I was raised both in Trinidad and the U.S. I am a mother of two, former police officer, rape and sexual assault investigator, domestic violence investigator, and a retired Army soldier. Today, I am a servant of God.

I spent most of my adult life thinking that I knew a lot about life, but with each day and each new year I'm learning that you never really know as much as you think you know. With that, I welcome new opportunities to learn, grow, and experience life.

Made For His Glory
By Success

Everyday I walk around being seen and perceived as someone people expect me to be. I am judged by their standards and preconceived notions except I am not who they want me to be.
This is revealed when they finally speak to me and are baffled at the very speech released from these lips of clay God has given me.
They selfishly desire me to be someone perfectly suited for their needs, their wants, and their expectations.
And when I openly express myself, their disappointment is vividly displayed on their faces or relayed in their prejudiced communications.
Their interpretations vary from: I am either too much of this or not enough of that; I’m not well-suited for this or too overly aggressive for that; I am too opinionated and blunt or too confrontational.
None of these criticisms I find offensive, instead I have learned to embrace the fact that who God has created me to be isn’t to be pleasing to man, but to be pleasing to Him and therefore spiritual.
I am to be holy as He is holy. I strive towards this mark because I am His, which means that if I am focused on pleasing man only, then I’ll be someone contrary to who God expects me to be…
…attempting to please man, yet knowing that it is impossible. Regardless of my attempts, I would undoubtedly please some while at the same time disappointing others unintentionally.
It is not my desire to conform to the ways of the world, to man, to family, or friends. I don’t esteem anyone higher than my God who is my creator, my provider, my deliverer, my healer, and my King.
If what I am is offensive because of who I am, then I will count it all joy when others ridicule or speak ill of me, for regardless of what they think of me, what matters most is that I am a child of the King.
I was made for His Glory! So who I am and what I was created to do is not left up to the opinions of others, nor their expectations which are designed to make me for their glory!
If I am who they want me to be and do the things they require me to do, it would be for their glory. In their twisted way of thinking I would have succumbed to their ways and embraced the ways of society.
But that is what they expect of me; what they want of me. Fortunately for me, I am knowledgeable of the truth, that God wants me to have life and have it more abundantly.
This cannot be ascertained by doing what others deem acceptable, or pleasantly sociable, but through obedience to His Word; accepting His Son, Jesus Christ into my life, because He is life to me.
To gain the things of this world and what it has to offer would mean death, and since my goal is to live, I denounce the very society that breeds sin in the lives of those unconsciously duped into thinking that life is as it’s supposed to be –
401Ks left depleted by the decline of a failing economy! A society teaching our children how to devalue their legacy! Church folks perpetrating to be Christ-like in their hypocrisy! Greed that supersedes sanity!
The things of this world hold no glimmer of life for me; therefore why should I do what pleases its people? A people who would rather declare that God doesn’t exist and instead, embrace man’s explanation of our existence whole-heartedly.
Man with his faults and limitations; constantly seeking to be God instead of acknowledging his creator. Man who constantly avoids the question and regurgitates knowledge handed down from previous generations.
I don’t think so! There is nothing appealing about that to me! I am not interested in trial and error by man’s standards to dictate who I am to be, what my purpose is in life, or how I should be pleasing and live up to man’s expectations.
For I was not created by man nor for man’s glory, but for God’s; therefore who I am, what I do, and who I was created to be WILL be for God’s glory!

Hey Success. I'm glad you made it. You can't tell by my photo, but I'm smiling. Something funny caught my eye. After I joined your page as a friend it said, "Frederick A. Murphy and Success D. O. Niles are now friends". What they don't understand is that you and I have always been friends long before and always will be. Welcome aboard and I am privileged to be your first friend on this site.
