- Personal Bio:
- I am the mother of three adult children and the grandmother of 4 ... and counting. I am also a writer, entreprenuer, and educator. I have two children's books currently available with one more being released during the holidays. I am the owner of an independent publishing company called Sweetie's Books. My company specializes in contemporary children's books written by and featuring people of color.
And in my spare time, I am a certified technology instructor.

We've decided to brave the cold. January 15 through 19, 2010 the Author Collective will shake hands with and share a cup of warm cider with 9,000 plus librarians of the northeast United States and elsewhere. The American Library Association Mid-Winter will be held in Boston, Massachusetts and what better way to showcase your book?
Past conventions have indicated that two specific genres are now in big demand, "Children" and "Urban" titles. As such we are planning to include a separate section in our booth dedicated to Urban Fiction and Non-Fiction plus books that instruct and educate children from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. We are now looking for authors who have such topics. If your writings fit these categories you should join the Author Collective TODAY!
Our goal is to help the self-published and un-known,under-known and soon to be well known author, get their craft in front of the people who make decisions to buy books in quantity. I noticed you're a published author & own your own publishing company. I'm nearly finished writing my manuscript & I know I want to go with a 'traditional' publisher vs. 'vanity'/'self' publisher, however, I'm debating whether I would have a better chance of doing this through an agent, what do you think?
