I am the mother of three adult children and the grandmother of 4 ... and counting. I am also a writer, entreprenuer, and educator. I have two children's books currently available with one more being released during the holidays. I am the owner of an independent publishing company called Sweetie's Books. My company specializes in contemporary children's books written by and featuring people of color.
And in my spare time, I am a certified technology instructor.
Do you have any published books:

For the year 2009, for everyone that leaves a full message on our Guestbook at the end of our website with your First and Last Name, telling us how you personally feel about Child Abuse, we will showcase you on the Honorable Mentions Page on our website, and place a link to your business – regardless of what it is, on our website, which gets over 200 hits a day.
We are doing this because in leaving your message on our Guestbook, you are showing us that you are working as hard as we are to save the lives of our African American Children - and therefore you deserve this much. Keep in mind that we are interested in reading your own "Personal" feelings about this Epidemic. We look forward to reading your words on our Guestbook. (Be sure to turn up your Speakers – there is R&B Music on every page!)
I, and the Children who manage to survive this Epidemic, will
never be able to thank you enough.
Dyahnne, thanks for the info & advice, very helpful and informative. I'll definitely look into it. Are familiar with the freelancing world? Know how/where to land those crucial, first assignments?
I noticed you're a published author & own your own publishing company. I'm nearly finished writing my manuscript & I know I want to go with a 'traditional' publisher vs. 'vanity'/'self' publisher, however, I'm debating whether I would have a better chance of doing this through an agent, what do you think?
