I am 29 and I'm from Long Beach, California. My daughter, Adara is my life. She is ten and as busy as I am! In my life I have been through the ringer and back and have endured some of the same things I write about. The rest comes from my imagination that is really a voice in my head that talks to me. I just sit back and let my fingers be the recorder. Because one must always be persistent and always strive in the mist of adversity, after years of struggling as a single parent, I'm happy to say I have a Bachelors of Art Degree from California State University Dominguez Hills in Literature and Communications. And of course a novel in stores! God is good!
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I tried to write my first book when I was 9 and have been going ever since. I strive to write stories with powerful characters, that are in conceviable as well as inconceviable circumstances that have the reader tripping out and turning the page so fast they end up getting a paper cut! I also strive to write stories that people can relate to, stories that give hope. My debut novel, Harlem On Lock does just that. With this story, I tried to make it a reflection of what is really going on.
I currently work as a Corrections Officer with young girls, which gives me the opportunity to share the challenges I faced in life and use the wisdom and faith I have acquired from those challenges to help as well as inspire them. Life is about lighting the torch, not just for yourself but for someone else. Having my book in stores has been a dream come true. I thank each and every person who went out and purchased my book! Feel free to contact me info@authorkarenwilliams.com! Thanks again for stopping by!

For the year 2009, for everyone that leaves a full message on our Guestbook at the end of our website with your First and Last Name, telling us how you personally feel about Child Abuse, we will showcase you on the Honorable Mentions Page on our website, and place a link to your business – regardless of what it is, on our website, which gets over 200 hits a day.
We are doing this because in leaving your message on our Guestbook, you are showing us that you are working as hard as we are to save the lives of our African American Children - and therefore you deserve this much. Keep in mind that we are interested in reading your own "Personal" feelings about this Epidemic. We look forward to reading your words on our Guestbook. (Be sure to turn up your Speakers – there is R&B Music on every page!)
I, and the Children who manage to survive this Epidemic, will
never be able to thank you enough.
