PERCEPTION IS OFTEN NOT REALITY: The manufacturing of Black perceptions
Imagine that there where two fishponds separated by only a few feet of land-- Two fishponds that we will refer to as “pond A” and “pond B”. Let us now say that the owner of pond A, with a greedy agenda of getting more people to fish in his pond at an exorbitant rated licensing fee—started telling lies that the fishes in his pond were much larger than those found in pond B. Moreover, to further convince the public of this lie he also started an elaborate media scheme using TV advertisements, commercials, and, fake news reports that comparatively showed fishermen repeatedly pulling big fishes from his pond A and little fishes from pond B. Even if the fishes in pond B were in fact actually larger than pond A, the people, having repeatedly been shown for many years the images of the small fishes being pulled from pond B may become totally taken in by the campaign of lies. They may become totally convinced that pond B fishes were smaller even if it wasn’t. These people, not realizing that they’re being tricked and manipulated, may even laugh at, mock or in some cases even attack anyone that presented the argument to the contrary that pond B fishes were in fact larger.
This analogy demonstrates how perception may be used to control people. It also demonstrates how perceptions can be truly greater than reality. Moreover, this is precisely what is being deliberately done to African Americans. From school history books that withholds over 97% of Black contributions from its text while favorably revises history to make whites appear to have been lesser inhumane through out their brutally racist history; published pictures of maps that inaccurately depicts the size of the African continent as being smaller than America; false stories and news reports that inaccurately depicts Africa- thus making it a source of embarrassment for many Black Americans; religions were of which all of its heroes are inaccurately depicted as Europeans; to the U.S. media’s negatively distorted portrayal of Black America. These deliberately perpetuated inaccuracies and outright lies are designed to covertly control and divide African Americans by subjecting them to seeing only the fraudulent worst in themselves-- while insinuating that they admire, respect, and trust only Whites. Its unrelenting daily assault on the Black psyche is designed to break down African Americans’ sense of racial unity and allegiance, mold the character of self-hatred, engender self-doubt, self-loathing, and distrust among their group. To the detriment of many African Americans, it has been extremely effective. It has successfully conditioned many to accept the dominance of Whites and white institutions over their lives by misleading them to believe that they are themselves, their own worst enemies.
This is the design of the Black Matrix and it is very real.
