I’ve said this before, but I will say it again … only in a perfect world would business be good all the time. During those times when your business could be better, try using the following strategy to bring in new sales.
24 Hour / One Day Sale on a Specific Product
In 2009 I spent the majority of the year, practicing different marketing strategies and this one by far was one of the most effective ones. Internet Entrepreneurs often make the mistake of creating/promoting a sale on everything in their business. For example they might send out an eBlast that says something like, “get 30% off everything in my store”. Most consumers will see this as just another sale (they get a TON of sales sent to their inbox every day) or they overlook the valuable products you’re selling, because what you’re selling isn’t the focus of your pitch. People who actually are interested in the sale might tell themselves they’ll get back to it later, but they won’t because you didn’t set a clear deadline. People forget to get back to things, it’s natural. The key is to encourage immediate action so that you can get immediate results!
Here’s a pitch I use:
For 24 hours I want you to finally get access to my ‘Blogging for Beginners’ video series for only $49. Tomorrow this extensive collection of video tutorials will go back to being $149.(This is an actual sale going on right now)
Here’s the Big Idea:
Keep your pitch short and sweet. Focusing on a specific product makes is quickly clear to the reader what you are promoting. Set a short time limit to take advantage of a great offer… this encourages interested customers to buy now, so they won’t put it off and/or forget about your offer later.
FYI:
